Other highlights have included two BBC Songs of Praise programmes in 1992 and 2008 and a fundraising concert to raise funds for the Cathedral's West front restoration in 2005.

Tickets £10 are available from the Hall For Cornwall tel 01872 262466 or online www.hallforcornwall.co.ukThe Federation of Cornish Male Voice Choirs (CFMVC) has raised thousands of pounds for charities including the RNLI, Mount Edgcumbe, Children's Hospice South West, Macmillan Nurses and St Julia's Hospice.

The Federation which was formed in 1983 has now generously set its aim on raising funds for the Cathedral's Inspire Cornwall Appeal, including the development of an Education Centre, the installation of a lift at the east end for disabled access and the creation of a music and arts facility.

Terry Hodge, the CFMVC Chairman, said: 'Each year we work extremely hard to raise money for worthy causes, and this year we are delighted to be able to help raise funds for the cathedral to help with its development project.'
