The Fishermen's Mission Charity Dinner at The Alverton

16 September - 13 October 2022

Join The Alverton on Thursday 13th October for a celebration of Cornish good and drink at the Fishermen's Mission Charity Dinner

A Celebration of Cornwall

Head to The Great Hall on the 13th October to help raise money for an incredibly important cause. The widely renowned team behind The Fishermen’s Mission will be joining The Alverton Hotel to co-host a celebratory evening of Cornish food and drink that will both highlight the important work they do and raise funds to help them continue to deliver their work across Cornwall.

Join the South West’s Top Chefs

In a true celebration of all our coastal region has to offer, some of Cornwall’s top chefs will be taking over The Alverton’s kitchen for the evening to highlight the very best seafood, grass-fed meats and harvest available across The Duchy, including St. Enodoc’s Guy Owen, Kota’s Jude Kereama, The Rick Stein group’s Stephane Delourme and our very own Nick Hodges and Darryl Collins (Cornwall Hotel Collection).

What to expect

The evening begins at 7pm. On the night, arrive to The Alverton oasis in the city and linger at the bar where you’ll enjoy a deliciously crafted and complementary gin and tonic, with gin specially provided by master distillers, Salcombe Gin.

Then head into The Great Hall where you’ll be greeted to the sounds of traditional Cornish Shanty singers. Throughout the evening, while you enjoy a 5 course dining experience delivered by the region’s top chefs with a perfectly paired wine flight sponsored by LWC Drinks, discover and develop your knowledge about the Cornish fishing industry thanks to a exciting talk delivered by BBC Radio Cornwall’s Daphne Skinnard and special guests from Cornwall: This Fishing Life TV show.

The evening will end with a live auction, where you’ll have the chance to bid on a number of amazing prizes. Some of the incredible prizes include a signed rugby shirt by the British & Irish Lions Squad, a signed racing helmet from Olympian Sir Ben Ainsley, an original oil painting by local artist Alice Hole, a stay and dining experience at The Greenbank and Alverton hotels and much more.
