Explore beautiful beaches

You’ll be spoilt for choice for stunning beaches on a stay in Falmouth. The area has three main sandy shorelines offering a beautiful location to soak up the Cornish sunshine. Just a ten-minute walk from the town, Gyllyngvase beach provides a great bucket and spade adventure whilst Swanpool beach just 15 minutes’ walk away is great for water activities and is ideal for families. If you’re looking for a quieter spot a little further out of the town, the secluded beach of Maenporth is just a ten-minute drive away.

Discover Falmouth’s heritage

From the town’s award-winning Maritime Museum to Cornwall’s largest fort Pendennis Castle, Falmouth’s rich history offers a charming insight into local legend and tales of a time gone by. Visit Pendennis Castle and learn of the importance of this Cornish stronghold whilst getting stuck in to the activities in the Discovery Centre, perfect for adults and children alike. The Maritime Museum offers a great experience whatever the weather and this year sees a range of exhibitions including Captain Bligh: Myth, Man, Mutiny and Skeleton: Sculpture inspired by boats.

Wander for miles along the South West Coastal Path

There are lots of trails and routes offering a scenic walk in and around Falmouth including the Town Trail. One of the most popular walkways for seeing the surrounding area is the South West Coastal Path. From Falmouth you can explore a range of locations including nearby Pendennis Point or perhaps hop on the ferry and discover the natural beauty of St Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula.

Indulge in a little Cornish culture

Falmouth is known for its creative vibe making it the perfect place to indulge in a little culture on your stay.
