Arguably one of Falmouth’s busiest and popular weeks, Falmouth Week is fast approaching – we thought we’d have a round up of what’s going on and what to look forward to !

Falmouth Week – a series of world-class boat races over 7 days, with courses laid in Falmouth Bay combined with an array of entertainment

Our top picks for each night... 

 

Friday 7th


Pig Wig Event. 6.30pm

 

Join a parade of over 600 Pink Wig wearing ladies to raise money for The Breast Care Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro. The legendary Betty Stoggs along with Falmouth Marine Band will be leading the parade through town at 6.30 from Falmouth Moor – it promises to be an amazing atmosphere to kick it all off – not to be missed!

 

 

Saturday 8th

 

Daytime Event - Outlaw Food & Drink Festival. 11am – 8pm

Artisan Cornish producers will be gathering on The Moor along with live music and a summer bar until late. Enjoy the very best Cornish produce and soak up the best of the local music scene.

 

Evening Event - Saturday night is Carnival Party night with music from the brilliant Soul Sensations.

 

 

 Sunday 9th

 

Daytime Event - The Outlaw Food & Drink Festival continues.

 

Evening Event – The original Wurzels + Hog & Cider Night. 7.30pm – late

It wouldn’t be Falmouth Week without the Wurzels who return to lead the party. Fancy dress is greatly encouraged for this event.

 

Monday 10th

Daytime Event – Mylor Yacht Club Regatta

Racing starts at 11am in Falmouth Bay and 1pm in the Carrick Roads.

 

Evening Event

Toploader + Land of the Giants. 7.30 – late.

World-class and chart toppinf band Toploader will be taking to the stage to get everybody ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’. Don’t Miss!

 

Tuesday 11th

 

Daytime Event – Restronguet Sailing Club Regatta

Restronguet Sailing Club arguably offers one of the best views in the UK – watch the racing from 11am in Falmouth and 1pm in the Carrick Roads

 

 

Evening Event – Jump & Jive with Company B + Support from Almost Blues

 

Re-live the sights and sounds of the 1940s with the energy of the 21st century.

 

 

Wednesday 12th

 

Daytime Event Penrose Sailmakers Champagne Race Day

Champagne Race starts at 11am, 1pm in the Carrick Roads. Dating back to 1955, the Champagne race remains renowned, with yachts racing for up to 25 miles.

 

 

Evening Event

‘Red’ Arrows’ Aerobatic Display. 6.15 – 6 35

 

One of the absolute highlights of Falmouth Week – the aerobatics team of The Royal Air Force need no introduction. See our ‘5 places to watch the Red Arrows’ blog for top viewing spots for this!

 

 

Thursday 13th

 

Daytime Event – Falmouth Art Gallery 11am – 3pm

Artomata workshop – making toys inspired by Roney Peppé with workshops for all ages.

 

Evening Event –  Ska Night with Rudi’s Message. 7.30pm – late.  Events Square

 

Rudi’s Message are back for a 4th year in a row and it’s no surprise why after their amazing reception year after year. With a huge on-stage presence, their sure to get you dancing with covers of Ska classics.

 

Friday 14th

 

Daytime Event – Science in the Square – 12pm – 4pm

Join scientists from the University of Exeter Penryn Campus to investigate nature and its mysteries! Become a scientist for the day with hands-on activities and science talks – great fun for all the family at the heart of Falmouth. 

 

 

Evening Event – 80 vs 90s Extravgnza with Five, Doctor & The Medics, Phatts & Small and K-Klass! 7.30 pm – late. Events Square

 

The Events Square’s biggest night of the week ! Featuring the 90s famous Five who smashed the charts with Keep on Movin as well as Phatts & Small who will be sure to get you dancing with their amazing original beats including the huge track Turn Around. Grab your tickets quick!

 

 

Saturday 15th

 

Daytime Event – Flushing Sailing Club Regatta. Racing starts at 11am in Falmouth and 1pm in the Carrick Roads.

 

Evening Event – Pirates of Kernow Night with Freshly Squeeed, plus support from The Levity. 7.30 til late. – Events Square.

Live party atmosphere and traditional fancy dress themed night brought to you by Freshly Squeezed to end Falmouth Week. A mix of Soul, Ja and electronica with support The Levity.

 

 

Sunday 16th

 

Daytime Event- The Falmouth Dragon Boat Challenge. 10am – 4pm. Falmouth Inner Harbour/Events Square

40 ft traditional Chinese style boats powered by up to 16 people with paddles. To enter or for more information contact 07718393087.

 

Evening Event - The Outlaw Food & Drink Market will run all day until 6pm.
