Every 5 years, the King Harry Ferry makes the journey from King Harry Reach at Trelissick down to Falmouth for dry docking.

In order to keep the ferry running 364 days a year, it requires a down period to replace worn parts with new parts to provide a reliable service.

On Monday the 7th March, the ferry left the chains and made the voyage to Falmouth assisted by tugs from MTS: Vulcan 2 and Taska 2.

The journey took approximately 1.5 hours to navigate the Carrick Roads down to No.2 Dry Dock in A & P Falmouth's shipyard. The ferry was then slowly and carefully positioned in the dry dock under the command of a Falmouth pilot before a Serco crane barge (Royal Navy) and Oscar Wilde (a RoRo ferry) joined the floating bridge in the dry dock.

The dock is now pumped clear of water with works commencing on changing various components to the ferry.
