Best Dog Friendly Boltholes in Cornwall
14 November 2016
We’ve done the research and found our favourite places for Fido when staying in Cornwall. Here are our favourite Cornish canine retreats.
St Anthony-in-Roseland Cottages
In a picturesque area on the Roseland, St Anthony-in-Roseland Cottages are beautifully secluded and close to many beautiful walks including coastal paths, woodland and two beaches within 5 to 10 minutes walk, perfect for running Rover! The cosy cottages have open log fires for curling up to as the evening draws in. Two dogs are welcome free of charge but any additional dogs are at an extra charge.
One of our favourite family places to escape the crowds is Bosinver. With a selection of dog friendly cottages, there's everything you need to entertain the entire family. Enclosed gardens, inglenook fireplaces, spacious and central to visit all of Cornwall, it's canine heaven.
Pendennis & St Mawes Castles
Both Pendennis and St Mawes Castles have cottages created with canines in mind. The Fort House at St Mawes has spectacular views across the Fal Estuary and a private garden. With a cosy woodburner and only a short walk into St Mawes, it's ideal!
At Pendennis Castle we love Callie's Cottage with barbeque area, warming woodburner and stunning location. Walk Fido around the castle after hours when you have the castle grounds to yourselves, with Pendennis atmospherically lit up as the cottage backdrop. Walk around Pendennis Point and stroll to the local beaches; Castle Beach, Swanpool or Gyllyngvase where you can enjoy a mug of hot chocolate in the dog friendly beach café and watch the waves.
Falmouth Holiday Homes
Falmouth Holiday Homes has an abundance of dog friendly properties We love Creekside Cottage complete with stunning river views and dream woodburner to curl up next to as we enter autumn. Stunning beams, pretty garden and sleek stylish bathrooms, it's a treat to have such wonderful interiors in a dog-friendly property!
With 30 dog friendly cottages, Creekside offers an incredible selection of cottages in a diverse number of locations including Restronguet, Flushing, Mylor and Falmouth! Each cottage is entirely unique offering something different but all of them close to the beautiful Cornish countryside so that Rover can roam and get wet, muddy and sandy, enjoying all that Cornwall offers. A piece of our heart belongs with Beach Cottage; this magical breathtaking detached cottage has the beach right outside the garden gate!
Trenona Farm Cottages
A working farm on the Roseland Peninsula, Trenona Farm is in the most picturesque location and has woodlands and streams running through it. With self catering and bed and breakfast options available, there is plenty to see and do in the local area. Take Fido for long coastal walks, visit Porthscatho and Portloe and enjoy a homely holiday. Pets are available by arrangement.
Each of these offers a fantastic place for Fido (and for 2 legged guests too!). Whether you're looking for family fun or a secluded hideaway for two plus man's best friend, we're bound to know the perfect retreat for Rover. Don't forget, all canine companions are welcome to hop on an Enterprise Boat and soak up the views from the sea!
