Review: Family Stay at The Falmouth Suites

22 March 2018

We’ve tried and tested Falmouth’s new luxury self catering suites and it gets the Wood family stamp of approval. Contemporary, coastal, family-friendly accommodation at its best, here’s what they thought...

We stayed in The Pelican, a 3 bedroom luxury self catering suite divided over two floors. Private-home perfection, The Pelican is light and airy, with floor-to-ceiling glass bi-folding doors connecting the indoor spaces with our own private terrace and the most stunning views across Falmouth Bay.  The decor is modern, open planned and super sleek. The spacious rooms are equipped with everything necessary to make your stay comfortable and easy, of particular note were the bunk beds - a huge hit with the kids! A similarly big hit for us grown-ups was the discovery of a welcome hamper on the kitchen table, full of fresh scones, a jar of jam and a jar of cream, along with a lovely personal note from the team.

Once unpacked, we headed to the pool with the kids for a swim. Perhaps one of the most special and unique features of staying in the Falmouth Suites is having all the parent-pleasing perks of your own private family space, combined with the benefits and facilities that The Falmouth Hotel has to offer. After our swim we couldn’t resist a drink in the hotel lounge bar, relaxing and gazing out to sea in the super comfy sofas.

The kids we’re excited to retreat back to our suite for a cosy night in, we ordered a big Friday night takeaway and snuggled up on the sofas to watch a film. The Falmouth Suites are such a great space to unwind, and enjoy quality family time together. Once the kids we’re tucked up in their bunk beds we settled down to a bottle of wine and enjoyed the sunset over the bay with Pendennis Castle perched on the headland - total bliss.

The following morning after breakfast we headed out to explore the hotel grounds. With 5 acres of beautiful gardens, a play area, and huge fish pond there was plenty of space to run around, the kids we’re in their element.  We ended our stay with a trip to Castle Beach, running from waves and climbing the rocks!

All in all, The Falmouth Suites offer stylish, modern self catering living that enabled us to really make the most of our time together in the Fal River. A really child-friendly environment, but one that don't compromise on style, space, or quality for grown-ups. A huge thumbs up from us!
