5 Best Sundowner Spots

30 June 2018

This part of Cornwall is full of beautiful views, especially at sunset. So, to help you hunt the Fal River’s most stunning vistas at dusk, we've rounded up 5 of the best that you’ll definitely want to add to your sunset drinks bucket list…

Here are 5 sundowner spots to try in our favourite part of Cornwall

The Greenbank Hotel, Falmouth

The Greenbank Hotel's gorgeous restaurant with stunning views across Falmouth harbour is the perfect place to enjoy the bounty of the sea as the sun sets over Falmouth. The Water's Edge Restaurant, Bar and Terrace is open to non-residents serving food all day. All you need to do is order, relax and drink in the view - We recomend their Friday Night Cocktails.

Heron Inn, Malpas

One of the most beautiful lesser known spots in Cornwall, Malpas is a small village two miles from the city centre of Truro. The Heron Inn sits right on the riverbank overlooking the Fal River. It boasts stunning views across the estuary and is accessible by both car and boat.

Muddy Beach Cafe, Penryn

With beautiful panoramic windows overlooking the river, Muddy Beach in Penryn is the perfect location to wind down and enjoy a sunset drink (or two). If you're feeling twitchy, the beach opposite the café is a great place for wildlife and wading birds.

The Rosevine, Porthcurnick

Head to the idylic Roseland Peninsula, one of the prettiest and most exclusive parts of Cornwall and pitch up on the beautifully manicured lawn at The Rosevine. This fabulous house by the sea has far reaching views over Gerrans Bay, made all the more magnificent when paired with a sunset & a quaffable vino!

The Idle Rocks, St Mawes

A stones throw from the water, The Idle Rocks is the perfect spot to watch the sun drop below the horizon. Enormous floor to ceiling glass windows stretch the entire ground floor of this chic boutique hotel, revealing a blissful backdrop across the bay. Sit back and enjoy the bobbing boats and passing kayaks as the sky and water turn orange and pink. If you decide you’d like to stay, all rooms here come with a sea view.
