Fal River's Best Fish and Chips

18 July 2018

Fishing for a good chippy in the Fal River? We've trawled the area for the very best, now all you have to do is try them all out for yourself!

There’s no better place than Cornwall to enjoy fresh fish, and the Fal River area has its fair share of restaurants and takeaways where you can devour the catch of the day straight from the sea to your plate.

Rick Steins Fish - Falmouth

If your a seafood fan, you simply can’t visit Falmouth without a trip to renowned chef Rick Stein’s eatery on Discovery Quay.

Classic fish and chips are at the heart of this menu with locally sourced battered cod, hake and lemon sole along with chips cooked in beef dripping.

Some of Rick's favourite seafood recipes are served in the restaurant including oysters, cod curry and a delicious sharing platter, featuring an array of dishes from Rick's TV travels.

Harbour Lights - Falmouth

Harbour Lights in Falmouth is definitely a Fal River favourite, and we’re not alone, the restaurant was recently crowned the BEST in the UK, frying out on top at the 2017 National Fish & Chip Awards (widely considered as the ‘Oscars’ of the fish frying industry).

You can eat in or take away, both options are great - eating in means you can sit back, relax and enjoy the lovely harbour views and take advantage of the extensive restaurant menu. Or take away and enjoy your delicious fish somewhere in the open air. Round the corner on the quay, strolling along the sea-front, or even on the ferry which stops just moments away. One thing's for sure, it will be freshly cooked and delicious.
