Christmas food, drink and decorations the Philleigh Way!
Next generation farmhouse cookery school, Philleigh Way, have announced a series of Christmas courses for the festive season.
A festive food and wine pairing evening, Christmas cookery course and wreath making day have all been designed to give students the Christmas cheer.
First on the list of new courses is a Festive Food and Wine Pairing evening during which, guest expert, Nigel Ede from Experience Wine will join resident Philleigh Way chef George Pascoe in guiding students through the minefield of choosing the right wines to accompany festive dishes. George will demonstrate a range of exciting dishes to impress Christmas visitors whilst Nigel shares some interesting concepts in food and wine pairing. Wednesday 3rd December, 18:30-21:00, cost £35.00pp including drinks and food tasting.
The second of the festive courses is a full day Christmas Cookery course. Kicking off with some European family favourites, George will teach students to bake Christmas classics such as German Stollen and Italian Panettone. He'll also demonstrate a selection of party canapes, show you how to jazz up your traditional turkey, share tips and tricks on how to make the most of left overs, plus a mixologist will be on hand to teach a couple of festive cocktails to impress party guests. Saturday 6th December, 10.00-16.00, £125.00pp including a delicious Philleigh Way Christmas lunch and drinks.
The final course in the festive range is a Christmas Wreath Making day with guest demonstrator and tutor, Louise Ord from Loulabel Floral Design. A traditional symbol of the festive season, Louise will show students how to design and create a Christmas wreath; perfect to adorn your front door or give as a present. This half day course runs from 10.00-14.00 on Wednesday 17th December, costs £40.00pp and includes all materials, homemade mulled wine and mince pies, as well as a Philleigh Way festive lunch.
