Thinking Big For Small Business Saturday
1 December 2014
Saturday 6th December is Small Business Saturday – a non-commercial grassroots campaign designed to support, inspire and promote small businesses on the 6th December and beyond.
As a small business, Falmouth's Coffee Shop and Deli Picnic Cornwall is taking part by encouraging passers-by to try shopping locally for the day.
'Small business Saturday is perfectly timed for Christmas' says Emma Douglas, Owner of Picnic Cornwall 'it gives us a brilliant opportunity to show locals what a great range of produce they can find locally – and the wealth of Christmas gifts and hampers that we've put together using exclusively Cornish produce. We send parcels nationally – we want to show that supporting small businesses locally can be just as convenient as shopping with the big brands'.
'On Saturday 6th we are thrilled to be joined by another Cornish small business, Tamblyns – we serve their delicious pork sausages in some of our Coffee Shop sandwiches – they're extremely popular. We want to shout from the rooftops to let people know that shopping with us, a small business, not only helps the high street, but supports the wider Cornish economy too.'
Picnic Cornwall are hosting a range of Cornish produce sampling days throughout December – more information can be found on their facebook page and on their website.
Picnic Cornwall are found at 14 Church Street Falmouth, and online at picniccornwall.co.uk.
