Discover the Deep History of Mermaids at the Maritime Museum
18 April 2016
Join Paolo Viscardi of the Grant Museum of Zoology at the Maritime Museum in Falmouth on April 27, as he explores the deep history of mermaids and explains how science continues to uncover the truth about some mermaids' fishy tales.
Paolo says: "Maritime cultures across the world have a long history of mermaid myths and legends, with depictions made over four thousand years ago.
With the rise of science and international trade, cultures clashed and depictions of mermaids became - for a fleeting moment - a focus of fascination and scientific study."
The talk, entitled Mermaids Uncovered is at 6.30pm on Wednesday, April 27 at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and tickets costs £7.
