Beginner Bread at Philleigh Way

Join the real bread revolution at Philleigh Way. Once you have made your own fresh bread, you will never go back to shop bought! Bread Baking Courses have never been more popular, on this creative one day course our head tutor and expert baker George Pascoe will take you through the craft of artisan bread baking.

During the day students learn how to bake a variety of different breads to include a classic white loaf, focaccia, sourdough, soda bread and naan bread. Students leave equipped with the necessary skills to fill their home with the mouth-watering aroma of freshly baked bread. The course gives students numerous insights and baker's tips on how to get the best results when baking at home. The next Beginner Bread course takes place on Tuesday 5th July. bit.ly/1w9Qnlv

Tapas at Philleigh Way

Philleigh Way's new Tapas course continues in July. Tapas dishes are perfect for parties and equally delicious as a complete lunch or supper with family or friends. This hands-on day course includes five demonstrations and four practical sessions with dishes such as Crispy squid with a tomato salad and lemon mayonnaise, Spanish empanadas with chimichurri, Sea bass ceviche, Calves liver with almond and saffron and Salt cod fritters being created. Students get to eat all of the delicious dishes they create around the farmhouse kitchen table as well as enjoying a glass of Prosecco mid-morning and wine with lunch so bring a good appetite with you on the day! Simple Suppers

Do you know someone who struggles preparing beans on toast or, do you have a youngster about to head off to University? Our Simple Suppers course is ideal for those with limited or no cooking experience. On this course you will learn a number of simple, seasonal and delicious dishes that can be easily recreated at home. In today's world demands on our time are high, so the aim of the course is to equip you with the skills to recreate quick, healthy, delicious meals in a relatively short period of time. The emphasis is on making everything from scratch but we'll teach you some labour saving tips and tricks to speed up the process. This is a hands-on course where you will be cooking, sampling and tasting a number of different delicious dishes. Learn the secrets to successful barbecuing

Philleigh Way's new Weber Grill Academy courses continue in July with the brilliant Barbecue Classics course taking place on Monday 25th.

Perfect for anyone looking to learn the Weber® way of cooking, this introductory course will teach you how to achieve consistently great results with classic barbecue dishes. You will learn must-have barbecue skills, such as lighting, controlling temperature and how to tell when your food is cooked to perfection.

Using Weber's lid-on technique on both charcoal and gas barbecues, an expert chef will spend two and a half hours teaching you the best way to cook a number of all-time barbecue classics.
As part of this course you'll be asked to prepare your own juicy cheeseburgers and be taught how to cut and portion a whole chicken, using the various pieces to create a succulent barbecued chicken dish. The chef will also show just one of the many possibilities to expand your barbecue menu with a demonstration of the famous "beer can chicken."
