My Type On Paper: Our Favourite Stationery Themes

19 December 2017

We love all of the ideas for themes when it comes to wedding stationery. After all, that Save The Date is the first glimpse that anyone will have of your wedding so that totally sets the tone. Beach wedding? A sandy vibe is essential. Black tie dinner? Make it formal with a stylish and elaborate invitation. Here are some of our favourite themes and the talented teams in charge of designing and delivering them.

For a Romantic Rustic Wedding…

We adore the Wreath Collection from Sincerely May. This pretty wreath combined with a hand drawn monogram is printed on tactile and country-style Kraft stock, in an earthy and sophisticated colour palette of browns and blacks. Perfect for a woodland or outdoor wedding, the collection includes Save The Dates, RSVP card, Information Card, Menu, Envelope Liner, Belly Band, Table Plan, Place Names, Order of Service and more. So you can be perfectly coordinated, rustic and stylish at the same time.

For a Village Hall Affair…

That feel of bunting, homemade food, naked cakes and pops of colour is perfectly encapsulated in the Summer Fete design by Illustrator and Designer Laura Likes. With pretty chevron style borders, this fun bunting-inspired design is creative, colourful and kitsch, complete with brown envelopes that have surprise candy striped interiors. Instantly setting the tone for the day as relaxed, fun and perhaps a little bit vintage, this will encourage your guests to wear their dancing shoes and bring a home baked treat. We particularly love the Save The Date with pretty luggage tag design.

For a Tipi Wedding…

There is nowhere better than Cornwall to tie the knot in a tipi so we were all totally enamored by this dedicated tipi design by wedding stationer and all round country girl, Sarah Wants. Full of pretty, countryside charm, and incorporating bunting, flowers, pops of colour and your very own tipi centre stage, it contrasts perfectly with the rural-inspired yet romantic earthy tones. Simple yet stylish and perfectly themed, our favourite has to be the fun floral envelope that the Save The Date arrives in. A pop of pink surely will brighten up any post when it arrives on the mat!

For a Unique Wedding…

For something unique, you need stationery that reflects your difference. Enter Pogofandango. Known for their laser cut cards, there is certainly no better invite to send than one that has been personally designed with your names and wedding date carved out, designed in your colour scheme. It really is a (laser) cut above the rest! The sort of card designed to be a keepsake, this is a truly intricate and imaginative design. And if the Pogofandango wedding invite doesn’t suit your big day style, check out their dedicated cards for bridesmaids or their Thank You range. We particularly love their Will You Be My Maid of Honour card.

For a Destination Wedding…

If you’re travelling overseas, look no further than Hip Hip Hooray. Their Destination range contains specific designs for Greece, Mexico, New York, Spain, Italy and more. Designed in a fun and vintage postcard style design, they’ll immediately set the scene and have your guests picturing themselves by the sea with a cocktail in no time. We love the traditional designs and how each option has something different to set the vibe for the big day. Our favourite is the Santorini postcard. Or perhaps the Italy design. Nope, it’s definitely the Paris design! Multi-destination wedding anyone?

Whatever your theme, whatever your style, from beach chic to Art Deco glamour, country fete or pretty floral, there is a design for every wedding style and since this will be the first hint of what’s to come for your guests, it’s so important to set the scene with your stationery!
