Knot Proposal Suggestions

16 December 2017

Oh we do love a good proposal and this is the time of year we expect to hear the most announcements as we approach Christmas and New Year (not to mention Valentine’s Day just around the corner!). We’ve put together some of our favourite proposal suggestions to give the chaps a helping hand when it comes to asking that big question in style.

Overlooking the Sea

Imagine a stunning sea view, a private terrace and a candlelit dinner for two, it doesn’t come much more romantic than this surely? The Nook Terrace at  The Tresanton is the ideal proposal spot. With the perfect name, this terrace is totally secluded and private, and can be used for intimate celebrations as well as a private place to pop the question. With uninterrupted sea views, heat lamps and space to arrange for musical accompaniment if desired, it’s the dream place to watch the sun set over the water whilst feasting on decadent cuisine.

In a Cobbled Courtyard

For a sense of cosmopolitan charm, there’s nowhere like The Alverton. They have the most amazing grounds, a divine cocktail bar and hidden corners everywhere you turn, perfect for enjoying a moment a deux to ask the question. But for something different, why not get down on one knee in the cobbled courtyard? The team at The Alverton can even arrange for afternoon tea to be served in the The Courtyard Lounge. Why not book one of the Courtyard Junior Suites for an evening of luxury? Soak into a romantic copper roll top bubble bath with a bottle of Champagne on ice… bliss.

Beneath a beautiful Tree

If you’re looking for a garden to ask that big question, look no further than the Penmorvah Manor Hotel in Budock Water, near Falmouth. A traditional country house hotel in the most picturesque setting, it’s the six and a half acres of woodland garden that really make this venue the most romantic for asking for their hand in marriage. Full of grand Rhododendrons, beautiful blossom trees and a magnificent view as far as the eye can see, why not stroll the grounds and find the perfect place to get down on one knee? Afterwards, relax on their al fresco sundeck and enjoy a glass of fizz to celebrate.

In a Luxurious Suite

For the last word in luxury, head to The Lookout Suite at The Greenbank Hotel. With a lounge area, delightful slipper bath and a sumptuous bed that you won’t want to leave, it’s simply one of the most romantic places to stay in Cornwall. Slide open the bi-fold doors to reveal a stunning private balcony with panoramic sea views to Flushing. The perfect place to pop the question, or why not order a Champagne breakfast in bed and ask those four words overlooking the ocean with croissants in hand. The team at The Greenbank can even arrange for the ring to be on the tray – now that’s what we call room service!

On Top of the World

If you’re looking to propose somewhere memorable, magical and meaningful, then Pendennis Castle is the place. A key part of the local heritage, Pendennis Castle was built by Henry VIII and has all of the history and character associated with the era. For added wow factor, climb the stone spiral staircase to the roof and take in the most magnificent views you will witness. Up there it feels like you’re on top of the world, where could be better to propose than here?

With so many choices of proposal location in Cornwall, we really are spoiled for choice. Whether you choose a beach, garden, woodland or a personal suggestion such as those listed above, you’re bound to get a great response, it doesn’t come much more romantic than this!
