5 Favourite Event Suites

21 February 2018

We've gathered together some of our favourite event suites to make selecting the perfect venue for your wedding a breeze! Whether it's historic, timeless or fairytale you're looking for, we have a suite to suit every bride and groom to-be.

In Cornwall, the variety of wedding venues is as wide and wonderful as our beautiful county. With such a sumptuous choice of places to exchange your vows, we thought it would be helpful to put together a list of our top 5 to help you find "the one".

The Great Hall, The Alverton

The Alverton has a choice of spaces to get married in but we have just two words for you: Great Hall.

With its unrivalled architecture and beauty The Great Hall is one of the most stunning places to get married you will ever see! Dreamed up by the same architect who built Truro Cathedral, the gothic, dramatic space and acoustics are simply magnificent. In the winter imagine the place adorned with candles, romantic, intimate and glamorous. In the summer, guests can enjoy canapés and Champagne in the library and bar, spilling out onto the picturesque terrace in the sun, it's the dream wedding venue.

The Riverbank Suite, The Greenbank

The Greenbank Hotel is one of the most historic and romantic buildings in Falmouth, a picture perfect and quintessentially Cornish wedding venue.

The largest of the hotel's spaces to say 'I do' and perhaps our fav (if we have to choose) is the light and spacious Riverbank Suite. This beautiful space combines a clean contemporary style, with glimpses of heritage and character offering couples a blank canvas to paint their own version of a dream wedding. Everything centres around the magnificent sea views, from the floor to ceiling windows that allow natural light to come flooding in to the exclusive balcony overlooking The Greenbank's private beach and quay what could be 'moor' romantic than that.

Castle Keep, Pendennis Castle

For a magical ceremony in a historic setting it has to be the Castle Keep at Pendennis Castle.

Steeped in nearly five hundred years of history, the intimate circular Castle Keep is a truly enchanting setting to exchange your vows. From the gunpowder barrels that line the aisle, to the original wooden pillars and stone staircase this space is breathtakingly beautiful especially when adorned with flowers and candlelight. After the ceremony you and your guests can enjoy an exclusive drinks reception on the lawn, and start the party off with a bang by firing up the cannons.

Hay Barn, Nancarrow Farm

No longer a 'wild' idea, barn weddings have become hugely popular in recent years and when you visit Nancarrow Farm it's easy to see why.

Situated in rolling countryside just outside of Truro, Nancarrow Farm is a spellbinding setting with a choice of barns licensed for civil ceremonies. Most recent and perhaps most magnificent of Nancarrow's lovingly restored spaces is the Hay Barn. Spacious, versatile with heaps of character and charm the Hay Barn is an idyllic backdrop for an utterly romantic and rustic affair. Perfect for couples who want to ditch the glitz and glamour in favour of a relaxed and informal atmosphere oozing with breathtaking natural beauty.

The Cutting, Caerhays Estate

If you dream of a fairytale wedding venue fit for a princess then it doesn't get more happily ever after than Caerhays Castle.

Celebrate in rural splendour with a marquee wedding nestled in the castle's beautifully manicured grounds. This beautiful pop up event suite benefits from dual aspect views, having the romantic backdrop of not only Caerhays Castle, but also the stunning sea-view, with Porthluney beach and the coast a short walk away. Quite literally a blank canvas for whatever decor your heart desires, marquee weddings at Caerhays are ideal for couples wanting to unleash their creativity in a truly magical setting.
