Job Overview

  • Hours of Work: Part time, 2-3 days per week to be negotiated, fixed term contract
  • Remuneration: Basic salary package of £28-31k FTE, plus the chance to earn significantly more through a substantial commission package

This is a key role at the heart of the Fal River partnership, which brings together a wide range of brilliant businesses in the visitor economy around the Fal estuary, in order to promote the amazing locations, experiences and days out in our very special part of Cornwall.

The Fal River Partnership Sales Manager drives business to business advertising sales for web listings and our iconic print area guide. They manage annual partner renewals, broaden the reach and scope of the partners, and lead the team on the annual publishing of the FalRiver Area Guide. They are focused on ensuring core business growth and sustainability whilst delivering for partners and nurturing key local partner relationships in Cornwall.

Key Responsibilities

Membership & Advertising Sales

  • Manage business to business sales for Fal River Cornwall marketing memberships.

  • Grow advertising and membership sales for the Fal River partnership including the Visitor Information Centre.

  • Sell digital web listings on the FalRiver digital platform to local businesses.

  • Sell listing space in the annual print guidebook.

  • Pitch commercial value to tourism, hospitality, marine and other sectors.

Relationship Management & Dual Marketing

  • Develop ongoing partnerships and relationships with local and regional business members.

  • Manage the annual renewal process for existing business partners.

  • Create dual / contra marketing opportunities with partners throughout the year.

  • Create and implement collaborative campaigns to boost mutual brand visibility.

Publishing & Team Collaboration

  • Work with the team on the annual production of the area guide.

  • Gather content, ad copy, and partner listings on schedule.

  • Coordinate with designers, editors, and printers for delivery.

  • Coordinate distribution of the finished guidebook across the region, and broaden distribution locations.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in business to business sales or account management.

  • Experience managing multi-tier memberships or destination marketing products.

  • Strong in-person and written presentation, communication, networking, and contract management skills.

  • Data management skills for sales reporting and tracking.

  • Good knowledge of the Fal River area and local tourism.

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work well in a team.

  • Strong IT skills: ability to use desktop publishing software (Adobe Suite), knowledge of website content management systems, use of spreadsheets and databases to track workflows and financial performance.

  • Desirable: digital marketing skills including content creation, use of social media platforms, campaign management.

  • Driving licence and use of vehicle.
