Explore the Legend of Captain Cook at The Maritime Museum

26 March 2014

In a captivating talk at the Maritime Museum in Falmouth on March 26, join historian David Pollard as he reveals the extraordinary life, personality and career of Captain James Cook.

Starting from humble beginnings as the son of a farm labourer, Captain Cook rose to fame as the man who discovered more of the earth’s surface than any explorer in history.

Discover Cook’s legacy in times of change and divided opinions.

David says: “As a recent convert to researching Captain Cook's incredible but true story, I have prepared this talk with the objective of exciting further people to explore his extraordinary life and the amazing adventures resulting from his history making assignments. They make the incredible Patrick O'Brian stories about "Jack Aubrey" seem a little tame!”

Tickets for the lecture, entitled Reflections on Captain Cook, at 6.30pm on Wednesday, March 26, are available from the Maritime Museum in Falmouth at £9.50 for lecture only and £19.50 to include two-course buffet. Doors and bar open from 6pm. To book your seats please call 01326 214546.
