Nordic Walking Beginners Workshop
20 October 2017
National Trust Trelissick, 10.30am- 11.30am, £15
Beginners Workshop inc 3 FREE 1 hr Nordic Walking Sessions with Walk Kernow
Nordic Walking uses specially designed poles to enhance your natural walking experience. With a technique that is similar to the upper body action of classic cross-country skiing, Nordic Walking becomes a genuinely whole body exercise that can be enjoyed at many levels, for health well-being and lifestyle.
This Beginners Session will lasts approx 1 hour. During this session you will learn the basics of how to Nordic Walk. You won't need anything as such for this course as poles are provided. Just turn up in clothing to suit the weather, we recommend trainers rather than walking boots.
When you arrive at Trelissick Gardens you will be greeted by Kelly your Nordic Walking Instructor. It is very helpful to arrive 15mins before the start of the Session as this gives us time to talk to you about any issues you may have and also provide you with the correct legnth poles for the session. The session then begins with...
Introduction to Nordic Walking and how it began
Introduction to the Nordic Walking Poles and how to use them safely
Begin to learn the 10 steps of Nordic Walking
A little Nordic Walk to practice what you have been learning and time to talk
Introduction to the second part of the 10 steps of Nordic Walking including drills to help with technique
Cool down to finish the session
During the session Kelly will also give you information about the different Nordic Walks that are on offer.
