  Does it get rough?

From time to time. Our ferries are very capable sea boats and are fully licensed by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) to operating in category 5 and category 6 waters. If the conditions are too rough e.g. gale force winds and a rough sea state, it is necessary to cancel sailings from time to time. All of our ferries are fully equipped with more than enough safety equipment onboard.

  Access

Are you accessible for wheelchair bound or limited mobility passengers?

We welcome everyone aboard our boats, however, there are steps at all of our destinations to negotiate. If you require assistance, please do contact us on 01326 741194 before you travel.

  How many steps are there?

It varies - depending on the tide, it could just be 4 steps, or at low tide, it could be up to 30 steps. The steps at Prince of Wales Pier are even and not too steep, they can be slippery when wet, so please take care when boarding and use the handrails. At Pandora, we land on a pontoon, so it will only be a handful of steps from the boat to the pontoon to negotiate. If you require assistance, please speak to a member of crew and they will be happy to help.

Are the ferries easy to move around?

It varies - depending on the boat. Some of our ferries are 80 years old! So the layout of each boat varies. All of our ferries have handrails on the steps to the top deck seating areas, but some of our older ferries do have steep steps. If you're unsure, please check before travel and give us a ring on 01326 741194 and our staff will be happy to help.

  Free travel for carers

If you are travelling with a carer, they can travel for free with you. Please bring along your blue badge or suitable evidence from the DWP when you travel. Disabled passengers also qualify for concession tickets.
