Celebrating the restaurants, chefs and hospitality teams shaping dining across the South West, the annual Trencherman awards recognise excellence rooted in consistency, care and a deep connection to place – values we hold close at The Greenbank.

Presented at a special awards dinner held at Carbis Bay Estate on 27th April, the evening brought together some of the region’s most celebrated hospitality talent for a memorable night of recognition and celebration. Guests enjoyed a remarkable menu created by chefs from across the South West, showcasing the extraordinary produce and culinary creativity that make this region so special.  

Representing The Greenbank on the night were Restaurant Operations Manager Gilly Greenhalgh, Bar Supervisor Jess House, Head of Marketing Abby Keverne and Editorial Specialist Rosie Cattrell, who were honoured to accept the award on behalf of the wider team.

“This award recognises so many people at The Greenbank, across a number of departments,” said Gilly on receiving the award. “It’s wonderful for the diligent work they do daily to be recognised and appreciated.”

To receive this recognition from the Trencherman’s Guide is incredibly meaningful, particularly as front of house is so deeply woven into everything we do. Hospitality is found in the warm welcome at reception, the thoughtful details noticed by our restaurant and bar teams, the friendly faces of our porters, and every small gesture that makes a guest’s stay feel memorable.

This award belongs to our entire front of house family – from restaurant and bar, to reception, porters and all those behind the scenes who bring genuine care to each guest experience, every day. We are immensely grateful for this recognition of a team whose passion, professionalism and personality make The Greenbank what it is.
