Halfway Through the Adventure: Miracle Theatre's Peer Gynt Delights Summer Audiences Across the South West

18 July

Miracle Theatre is celebrating the halfway point of its 2026 summer outdoor tour, as audiences continue to flock to gardens, castles, village greens and open-air venues across Cornwall and the South West to experience its acclaimed production of Peer Gynt.

Since opening in June, the company has welcomed audiences of all ages to its fresh, funny and imaginative retelling of Henrik Ibsen's classic tale. Combining Miracle's signature physical theatre, music and visual storytelling, Peer Gynt has transformed some of the region's most beautiful outdoor locations into magical theatrical spaces.

The production follows the adventures of the dreamer Peer Gynt whose pursuit of wealth, status and adventure leads him into a fantastical world populated by trolls, strange creatures and unforgettable characters. Packed with comedy, music and theatrical invention, the show offers an evening of entertainment for families, friends and first-time theatregoers alike.

As the tour reaches its halfway point, there is still plenty of opportunity for audiences to catch the production before it closes at the end of August including dates in and around Falmouth at Above The Bay on Saturday 25th & Tuesday 28th July, St Mawes Castle on Friday 7th & Saturday 8th August and Enys Gardens on Thursday 27th to Saturday 29th August.

Bill Scott, Founder of Miracle Theatre, said:

"Reaching the halfway point of our summer tour brings mixed feelings; a sense of achievement (having made it this far avoiding heat stroke and lightning strikes!) and slight regret that it won’t be long before we’re packing up the van for the last time this summer.”

“We've been thrilled by the warmth of audiences and the wonderful welcome we've received from communities across the region. Every venue brings something unique to the performance, and that's what makes outdoor theatre such a magical experience. We can't wait to visit the remaining locations and share Peer Gynt with even more people over the coming weeks."

For more than four decades, Miracle Theatre has brought bold, accessible theatre to rural communities, creating memorable cultural experiences in extraordinary settings.

The tour continues throughout July and August, visiting venues across Cornwall and the wider South West before concluding at Enys Gardens on 29 August.
