Sea shanties, soul and Pink Wigs: Sister hotels unveil packed programme for Falmouth Week 2026
31 July
The Greenbank and The Falmouth are preparing to celebrate Falmouth Week 2026 with a packed programme of fundraising, live music and waterfront events, bringing together locals and visitors for one of Cornwall's best-loved summer festivals.
From the return of the Pink Wig Mermaid March and a charity afternoon tea, to sea shanties, soul music, the Falmouth Air Show and a rare solar eclipse, the sister hotels will once again be at the heart of the town's celebrations.
Kicking off the week on Friday 7th August, The Greenbank is proud to once again support one of Falmouth's most cherished fundraising events as the Pink Wig Mermaid March returns in aid of The Mermaid Centre at Royal Cornwall Hospital.
Before the march departs at 7pm, participants are invited to gather at The Greenbank's popular Pink Wig Pre-Party in the waterfront marquee overlooking the River Fal. Guests can enjoy loaded fries, themed cocktails and mocktails, with 50% of all Pink Wig drinks sales, as well as 10% of all bar sales, donated to The Mermaid Centre, helping fund equipment, training, facilities and those extras that enhance patient care beyond NHS provision.
Now organised by Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity, the Pink Wig Mermaid March continues the remarkable legacy of the event founded by Sally Hicks Wood in 2009. Whether attending in support of a loved one, in memory of someone special or simply to help make a difference, the march is a celebration of community, remembrance and hope.
Since 2023, The Greenbank's annual Pink Wig Pre-Party has raised more than £4,500 for The Mermaid Centre, with the hotel hoping to add even more to the total this year. Fundraising continues throughout the weekend with The Greenbank's Pink Afternoon Tea, available from 7th to 9th August. Priced at £25 per person, the specially created afternoon tea features handcrafted sweet and savoury treats, with £5 from every portion also donated to The Mermaid Centre.
Matt Garland, General Manager at The Greenbank, "Falmouth Week is one of the highlights of our calendar and we're incredibly proud to play a part in bringing the community together. From supporting the Pink Wig Mermaid March and The Mermaid Centre to welcoming guests for live music, the Air Show and fireworks, it's a fantastic week that showcases everything we love about Falmouth while raising money for an incredible local cause."
Celebrations continue on Wednesday 12th August at The Falmouth with Shanties & Skylines, a free evening of live music, local food and drink, front-row views of the Falmouth Air Show and one of Cornwall's best vantage points to witness the spectacular solar eclipse.
The festivities round off later in the week at The Greenbank as Falmouth Soul Sensation takes to the waterfront marquee with an evening of classic soul favourites before guests enjoy breath-taking views of the Falmouth Week fireworks lighting up the harbour.
Throughout Falmouth Week, The Greenbank and The Falmouth look forward to welcoming locals and visitors alike for a memorable programme of community fundraising, live entertainment and waterfront celebrations, showcasing the very best of summer in Falmouth.
