Still Looking at Tregony Contemporary

10 August

James Bland NEAC & Edmond Praybe : Tregony Contemporary in St Mawes

  5–26 September 2026

Still Looking brings together new paintings by British artist James Bland NEAC and American painter Edmond Praybe.

While both artists begin with the observed world, their paintings travel in distinctly different directions. Bland's work moves between observation, memory, abstraction and storytelling, creating paintings rich in atmosphere and mood. Praybe brings a quieter structural intensity to still life, portraiture and the figure, exploring the relationships between colour, space, form and the painted surface.

The title takes its cue from Praybe's description of painting as “an active, ongoing, incomplete state”,  an idea that resonates throughout an exhibition celebrating two distinctive approaches to contemporary painting.
