The nights are drawing in and the shadows are taking over. Join the National Maritime Museum for a spooky half-term this October!
Shivery Timbers
Monday 24 – Friday 28 October, 11am, 1pm & 3pm.
A lovely shadow puppet show performed by Star Box Shadows, ARTiculate Collective & Wilderness Music.
This October half term take to the spooky high seas for eerie songs and ghostly shadow puppet stories in the Museum’s Main Hall.
Make & Take
Saturday 22 – Sunday 30 October, 12.30pm – 3.30pm
Make a spooky shadow puppet and create your own shadow puppet stories together.
Museum Trail

Can you discover all the hidden shadows on the Museum Trail? Find as many as you can to claim your prize.
Explore some more!
Explore 15 galleries over four floors, jump aboard boats, climb the 100-foot Lookout Tower, watch boat-building, go underwater in the Tidal Zone, discover stories of ocean adventures and survival, and sail miniature boats on the waterfront boat pool.
The Silhouettes & Shadows October half-term activities are FREE as part of the Museum’s annual admission fee. Pay once and get in free for a year.
Halloween at the Museum
Monday 31 October
On Monday 31 October dress as ghosts and ghouls and visit the Museum for tricks, treats and tales. They will be open until 6pm for after-school visits. Explore the museum and stumble upon spooky storytelling and treats!
