Caerhays Summer Fête Sunday

16 June 2024

June 16th 2024 is Father’s Day, so what better way to spend time as a family, than at the Caerhays Summer Fête?

Join us in the grounds of Caerhays Castle on Sunday 16th June for our Charity Summer Fête, in support of Children’s Hospice South West. Open 10am-4pm, it promises to be a day packed with family-friendly fun and entertainment! Read on to discover what attractions and activities we’ve got planned for you this year…

Entertainment will span several areas of the Caerhays grounds, including Castle Lawn, Castle Courtyard and Castl Field, and there will be live music, theatre, dancing, artisan crafts, a 5km fun run, a dog show and so much more…

Castle Lawn will host local choirs and live theatre

Entertainment on Castle Lawn will include performances from Mevagissey Male Choir, Tregony Primary School, local Cornish singers and Squashbox Theatre. There will also be a bar on Castle Lawn to keep you hydrated whilst you sing along to these amazing acts. Spread a blanket, sit back and relax, this is what Sundays were made for!

Castle Courtyard will feature Morris Dancing and Ukulele Jigs

Over in the Castle Courtyard, the Liskeard based Catseye Morris troop will be dressed in their signature black jeans with splashes of vibrant colour as they perform their dances and entertain the crowds. The St. Dennis Ukulele Band will delight you with their rousing jigs and wonderful set list, and the Magnolia Tea Rooms will have the kettle on… because Summer Fêtes are thirsty work!

Enjoy the Bouncy Castle, Artisan Craft Tent, Archery, Dog Show & 5km fun run at Castle Field

Down on Castle Field, the kids will be delighted by the Bouncy Castle, it’s always a winner with the little ones. How often can you leap around on a Bouncy Castle in front of a real castle? It’s a must-do activity at the Summer Fête. Also, what could be more iconic in the castle grounds than a spot of Archery? Imagine yourself back in the times of Robin Hood and Knights in armour, as you hone your skills and aim for a bullseye.

There will also be an Artisan Craft Tent in Castle Field for those with an eye for the artistic. It’s the perfect Sunday activity; mooch around and browse the craft stalls selling jewellery, glassware and so much more – you never know what you might find!

At 12:30pm registrations will be taken for the dog show, so if you’ve got a talented pup in your family then bring them along, and let them shine! Classes and categories will be announced closer to the date via our social media channels.
There will also be a 5km run starting at 11am in Castle Field. There is no additional cost to enter the fun run, so make sure the kids all bring their trainers – it’s such a wholesome family activity to enjoy together.

Fresh Cornish produce will be on offer from Beetham Food, The Cornish Italian and Pencoose Pantry

Food wise, we have got the whole family covered! Beetham Food will be on hand to delight you with their amazing hotdogs, they always go down a treat. The Cornish Italian will be dishing up their signature homemade pasta and tiramisu, which is the best Italian food for miles around. Pencoose Pantry will – by popular demand – be serving their famous pancakes! Just thinking about the menu is making us hungry already!
