Ammeth: Farming In Cornwall at the Falmouth Art Gallery
25 July - 5 October
In collaboration with Kestle Barton, The Museum of Cornish Life and Penlee House Museum & Art Gallery
Join us down on the farm this summer as we use art to explore stories and issues from one of Cornwall’s most important industries.
Over 70% of land in the county is farmed and the relationship between farming and the landscape has been a continuing source of inspiration for local artists.
This exhibition examines how farming is depicted in historic and contemporary art, reflecting on environmental concerns and celebrating Cornwall’s rich farming tradition and the positive impact of regenerative farming methods and sustainable food production.
Featuring loans from Penlee House Gallery & Museum and a new commission in celebration of soil by Georgia Gendall.
Falmouth Art Gallery is open Monday - Saturday 10am - 5pm and closed on Sunday and Bank Holidays.
