Three classical guitarists perform at the St Just in Roseland Church on Sunday 1st September. Featuring the Polish guitarist Aleksandra Sapok and Ben Salfield as the BenOla Duo, and Przemek Hotlaś, also from Poland.
Aleksandra Sapok is the dynamic young Polish classical guitarist who has twice won her country's Young Guitarist of the Year competition. She studied at the Conservatorio Superior Musica Manuel Castillo in Spain, and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, from where she graduated. Honoured by the Polish Ministry of Culture, she has won numerous international awards and competitions, and performed across Europe.
The BenOla Duo comprises two well known classical guitar performers: Aleksandra Sapok from Poland and Ben Salfield who is from Cornwall.
Veteran performer Ben Salfield was first acclaimed in the international media as one of the world's leading lutenists in the early 1990s. Admirers of his work have included the late Julian Bream. He has performed in most of Europe's capital cities, broadcast widely on radio and television, and had over a dozen music editions published. Until his recent retirement from solo performances, he toured in up to ten countries per year.
Przemek Hotlaś was born in Kamienna Góra, SW Poland, in 1996. Following studies in fingerstyle guitar, he attended S.Devon College and Falmouth University, launching his performance and teaching careers in 2019. Hotlaś has appeared in concert across the South West and currently studies classical guitar with Ben Salfield.
