This September, Falmouth hosts the Red Bull Sea Sprints, a one-of-a-kind gig rowing challenge bringing speed, endurance, and plenty of drama to the harbour.

The format is fast and furious: crews of six sprint-swim from the quay to their pilot gig, row flat-out to a tall ship, where the pilot dives in to retrieve a flag, before racing back across the harbour to finish. Expect close battles, daring swims, and thrilling sprint racing – all set against the iconic backdrop of Falmouth’s working harbour.

With heats in the morning building to A, B, and C finals, the racing runs from 11 AM through to around 6 PM on Saturday 20th September, guaranteeing nonstop action on the water.

• From the water: Fal River Boats will be running dedicated spectator boats – the best way to get right into the heart of the action and enjoy unbeatable views of the racing.
