This October, we are thrilled to host an unmissable culinary experience at The Reef Knot Restaurant, featuring none other than Dan Merriman, winner of MasterChef: The Professionals 2024!
Dan will be joining forces with our Head Chef, Carla Jones, to craft a truly unique eight-course fish and seafood tasting menu. The dishes will showcase the very best of the season, using exceptional ingredients sourced directly from Cornish day boats operating in and around St Mawes and the local Cornish waters.
Following his MasterChef victory, Dan launched “At Home with Dan”, a private dining venture bringing Michelin-level cuisine and service into the homes of food lovers around the country.
We are honoured to offer our guests the rare opportunity to experience Dan’s award-winning food in the stunning waterside setting of The Reef Knot Restaurant at The Idle Rocks.
This one-night-only event promises an unforgettable culinary experience, where two exceptional chefs will combine their talents to celebrate the very best of Cornish seafood. Each of the eight meticulously crafted courses will showcase the chefs’ passion for flavour, precision, and innovation — all against the stunning backdrop of St Mawes Harbour.
Guests will also have the rare chance to meet Dan in person, hear more about his journey since lifting the coveted MasterChef trophy, and gain insight into the inspiration behind each dish on the menu. His flair for blending classical techniques with modern creativity is sure to delight seasoned food lovers and adventurous diners alike.

Featuring an exquisite 8-course menu; 4 dishes created by Dan and 4 by Carla. Your evening begins at 7pm with a welcome drink & canapés, before being seated at the banquet table at 7.30pm for the main event. The evening concludes with tea or coffee served alongside delicate petit-fours.
For those who wish to elevate the experience, an optional wine flight will be available, featuring expertly selected wines to complement each dish.
