Enjoy a Concert by Candlelight at St Just in Roseland Church on 29th November. "Dissolve O My Heart" Philippa Mo solo violin plays unaccompanied Bach and Telemann.

In this winter early evening concert, Philippa performs the Partita in D minor by Bach, one of the most deeply contemplative of pieces in one of the most evocative waterside holy place in Cornwall. With its astonishingly complex final movement the Chaconne, a dance over a ground bass with 64 variations the Partita concludes.

Missy Mazzoli is a groundbreaking composer from New York who responds to the opening of the Chaconne in her mesmerising piece Dissolve, O my Heart. Telemann, Bach’s friend and contemporary casts an elegant Baroque pathwith his solo fantasias contrasting with Bach’s own Cello Suite no 4 and is answered by the exciting young British composer Leo Geyer.
