Wet Felting Bag Workshop with Trebah Garden

9 April

Create your own wet-felted bag

This workshop is an introduction to the ancient art of wet felting, used for thousands of years in Asia for creating yurt cover, clothing and artwork. Recently it has been developed in Western Europe and the Americas to high level in Felt Couture. It is only limited by your imagination!

Suitable for all levels of felting experience and all ages. You can just learn to make a felted square, or go on to make a closing hand purse learning to use a resist and even carry on to learn embellishment on your creation.

Please bring, if possible:

Large towels, plastic bowls, apron, scissors.

The workshop will provide first quality hand dyed and commercial dyed Merino wool and other UK sourced rare breed fleece and silk fibre, ribbon etc. to embellish. Daena will work alongside you so you can see the whole process.

Daena Rose has worked for over 50 years professionally in textile art. Her primary focus has always been in natural fibres and dyes, producing woven and felted original work which have been exhibited and sold in many countries.

Living in and inspired by Cornwall’s wild seas and coastal woodlands she creates wearable art which is now her new passion.
