Countdown to the new year whilst admiring Truro’s dazzling midnight fireworks from our outdoor terrace.
Christmas Adventure Quest at Pendennis Castle

Join English Heritage’s festively fun adventure quest which will allow you and your family to explore and discover fun facts and untold stories in the places where history happened at Pendennis Castle! Hunt for clues and QR codes which reveal quirky tales or treat yourself to a hot chocolate or mulled wine in beautiful surroundings. It’s a great way for the whole family to get out and about in Christmas week. Activity included in standard admission price. Visitors must book their visit in advance. If you are travelling from St Mawes, why not sail across to Falmouth on the St Mawes Ferry to add to the adventure!

Christmas Wreath Making

Head to Philleigh Way for a festive workshop of Christmas wreath making, mulled wine and mince pies whilst learning all the skills required to make and design your very own Christmas wreath to take home and enjoy. Refreshments & take away Christmas pasty are included in the price together with all the equipment, materials and tuition.
If you or someone you know is a cooking novice, this beginners cookery course is a great place to start. The course is aimed at novices and covers the basic core skills that provide a solid foundation to most of the things we do in the kitchen. During this fun day course they’ll teach you a wide range of basic fundamentals. Also what cuts of meat are the best value for money and how to use the seasons to your advantage. After this course you’ll be a pro in no time!
Christmas Cooking, Canapes & Cocktails

This December Philleigh Way is presenting the ultimate Christmas food experience! From Christmas party canapés, to tackling Christmas day dinner, this course is designed to streamline, get ahead and innovate during the Christmas period.
From the traditional Yule log to Philleigh’s take on stollen, at the end of this fun, festive course, you’ll be heading home with a bag full to bursting with delicious treats to share with friends and family this Christmas (if they last that long!).
Knife Skills Course
The most important tool in a kitchen… The Knife. So if you are seeking more confidence in cutting and slicing join the team at Philleigh Way. You will look at classic vegetable cuts – julienne, brunoise, paysanne, chiffonade. How to sharpen & store knives, how to break down a chicken and fillet fish. Then bring all of these elements into a complete dish. Being efficient and confident with a knife will change the way you cook.
Intimate Christmas Cookery Parties
It’s safe to say it’s not going to be a ‘normal’ Christmas this year, and this is the same for Christmas party season. However, if you are a smaller business, or a tight-knit team within a larger organisation and there are six of you or less, then why not mark the Christmas season and the end of a strange year with a course at Philleigh Way Cookery School?

A Ferry Trip
In between the Christmas chaos of shopping, present wrapping, food prep and hosting, make sure to take some time to yourself and take a trip on the St Mawes Ferry and sail across the river with nothing but the sea breeze for company.
