Christmas Adventure Quest at Pendennis Castle

Join English Heritage’s festively fun adventure quest which will allow you and your family to explore and discover fun facts and untold stories in the places where history happened at Pendennis Castle! Hunt for clues and QR codes which reveal quirky tales or treat yourself to a hot chocolate or mulled wine in beautiful surroundings. It’s a great way for the whole family to get out and about in Christmas week. Activity included in standard admission price. Visitors must book their visit in advance. If you are travelling from St Mawes, why not sail across to Falmouth on the St Mawes Ferry to add to the adventure!
Situated on a headland with breathtaking views out to sea, Pendennis Castle is one of Henry VIII's finest coastal fortresses. The castle has defended Cornwall since Tudor times, and played a vital role during the two World Wars.

The course is aimed at novices and covers the basic core skills that provide a solid foundation to most of the things we do in the kitchen. The most important tool in a kitchen… The Knife. So if you are seeking more confidence in cutting and slicing join the team at Philleigh Way. You will look at classic vegetable cuts – julienne, brunoise, paysanne, chiffonade. How to sharpen & store knives, how to break down a chicken and fillet fish. Then bring all of these elements into a complete dish. Being efficient and confident with a knife will change the way you cook.

A Ferry Trip
In between the Christmas chaos of shopping, present wrapping, food prep and hosting, make sure to take some time to yourself and take a trip on the St Mawes Ferry and sail across the river with nothing but the sea breeze for company.
