Spring in Cornwall: Exploring in a Classic Car

21 May

Enjoy exploring stunning Cornish landscapes in a Classic Car from Perranwell Classic Car Hire

Spring in Cornwall is a beautiful time of year. There's an awakening of nature, with flowers blooming everywhere, and the weather begins to warm up nicely. The days are getting longer and brighter, perfect for exploring before the summer crowds arrive, and the fresh, vibrant spring colours transform the landscape.

Imagine the thrill of embarking on a picturesque adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of our stunning area in a classic car. The region is coming alive after winter, the roads are less congested than summer months, and parking is much easier, making it an ideal time to explore Cornwall's pre-peak season.

Whether you're a vintage car enthusiast or simply seeking a unique and special way to explore the area, Perranwell Classic Car Hire offers an unforgettable experience.

There's something magical about driving a classic car, from exhilarating coastal routes with the hood down to idyllic countryside lanes lined with spring blossoms, it promises a delightful experience.

There's a definite sense of romance and nostalgia with a classic car. Modern vehicles are efficient and convenient, but classic cars, with their leather seats, polished woodwork and undeniable charm, remind us of the craftsmanship and heritage of a bygone age.

The destination is almost unimportant when driving a car such as a Morgan or MG Roadster, the journey is there to savour as you travel in style. Slow down and immerse yourself in your surroundings and enjoy the journey as much as the destination.

Route Inspiration: Around the Fal

Perranwell offers a variety of route maps for inspiration, and its central location provides access to some incredible day drives.

One stunning route is "Around the Fal," which takes you to the Helford, known for its scenic beauty. You can park and explore Glendurgan Garden or Trebah Garden before heading towards Falmouth, passing by beautiful beaches such as Swanpool and Maenporth.

Falmouth offers great eateries and plenty to see and do. Head next to the ancient market town of Penryn and the delightful harbourside village of Mylor. This part of the drive will take you through a labyrinth of breathtaking woodlands.

Continuing north towards Truro, you can join the B3289 and cross the Fal River on the iconic King Harry Ferry, which takes you into the wild Roseland Peninsula, known for its hidden coves, rugged coastline, and raw beauty. Spend at least half a day exploring the area, starting with the pretty fishing village of St Mawes and moving on to the picturesque village of Portscatho and the famous Hidden Hut, where you can enjoy freshly cooked food.

Follow the coast around Gerrans Bay to Carne Beach and the area's only 5-star hotel, The Nare, which welcomes non-residents to its award-winning restaurant, The Quarterdeck. Before returning to Perranwell, take some time to enjoy Truro with its cobbled streets and majestic cathedral.
