Gluck: Art, Identity and Dressed Appearance

Exhibition talk at Falmouth Art Gallery
This illustrated talk, by Professor Amy de la Haye, will explore the biography of the artist Gluck’s meticulously constructed dressed appearances.
It will draw upon self and commissioned portraits, Gluck’s private archive, surviving garments and family testimony as evidence.
Amy will also discuss the staging of the exhibition Gluck: Art and Identity (Brighton Museum 2017) focussing on how the curators communicated Gluck’s art, dress and identity to modern audiences.
