How Painting Changed My Life
23 January - 19 April
A display of work by local artist at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall
The National Maritime Museum Cornwall presents a display of work by local artist Jane Southern, exploring the positive role art can play in mental health recovery. Jane took up painting five years ago as a means of navigating traumatic and difficult life events, drawing on her experience as a keen photographer to inform her composition and using local Falmouth and Cornish coastal scenes as inspiration.
The exhibition aims to tell a story of personal artistic struggle and growth that we can all feel a connection to.
This exhibition forms part of the museum's experimental series of artist-led exhibitions created in response to the maritime world and is included in museum admission.
