The Countrymen at The Princess Pavilion
September 2nd
The Princess Pavilion is a year-round live music venue and theatre complex offering a wide programme of excellent entertainment complemented by their stunning Gyllyngdune Gardens and vibrant Garden Cafe. September showcases The Countrymen, a Cornish Folk Rock Harmony Group from Launceston, on their Songs of Hope tour. Featuring five seasoned musicians with tight four-part harmony vocals and a token Cornishman, The Countrymen are passionate about their county and take their audience on a journey through the history and culture of Cornwall, with their own arrangements of traditional and contemporary songs, as well as original material.

Truro High Tide Cruise
September 9th & 26th
Take advantage of the afternoon high tide and book a river cruise to Truro, enjoying the wonderful views along the Fal River, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as you go.
The Fal River fleet of classic wooden ferries cruise up the Carrick Roads and then all the way to the city of Truro.
Departures run from Falmouth Prince of Wales Pier at 16:30, returning at approx 18:45. Booking online is essential to secure these tickets. Returns and Singles are available.
Dawn Chorus on the King Harry Ferry
September 10th (rescheduled)
100 Musicians and Singers will gather on the banks of the Fal River at the King Harry Ferry, to perform a new “Dawn Chorus” commissioned for HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations from 7:45am on Saturday 10th September. The event is free and open to everyone to come along and listen to new musical work written for brass instruments and voices by Cornish composer Gareth Churcher (Head of Cornwall Music Service Trust).
Cornets and Trombones will echo across the river. The premiere will bring together singers and players of all ages and will be led by ‘St Keverne Brass Band’ and Truro’s own ‘Three Spires Singers’ along with Cornwall Youth Brass Ensemble and Cornwall Youth Chamber Orchestra to celebrate the occasion from the deck of the King Harry Ferry.
The event will take place on the King Harry Ferry on the Feock side of the river. Parking will be available at National Trust Trelissick free of charge on the Feock side (normal charges apply from 10am) and for guests from the Roseland side, please park in an orderly fashion on the approach road to the ferry. Guests from the Roseland side will be picked up at 07:50am by the King Harry Ferry.

Cornish Gin and Drinks Festival at The Alverton

If you love your gin, The Alverton has just the thing! Visit their annual Cornish GIn and Drinks Festival and after your complimentary arrival drink, meet the makers, attend a masterclass and sample the very best in Cornish tipples. Pick up handy hints and tips on how to create your own top-notch drinks at home, or try some of the many samples on offer. There will be a whole host of entertainment on offer, including performances from local singer songwriters. As well as gin, there will also be a vast range of other spirits available including local rums, craft beers, non-alcoholic spirits, and liqueurs. Your ticket includes a G&T on arrival, samples from all of their distilleries, access to their masterclass, a printed gin guide and a keepsake branded gin glass.

Tempest at Trebah Garden
September 20th - 24th
“Come hither spirits, will you brave the elements?”
Enjoy the magical essence of the 26 acre, sub-tropical Trebah Garden, steeped in heritage, creativity and the spirit of innovation, whilst experiencing a live, bold, contemporary retelling of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Bring your sensible shoes, warm weather attire and a torch and be prepared for a journey venturing through an island full of noises in this radical adaptation of a 400-year-old story.

Sea Songs Sessions at the National Maritime Museum
Friday 30th September
If the Sea Shanty Festival feels like a long time ago, here’s another chance to immerse yourself in more maritime music at the National Maritime Museum! ‘Sea Song Sessions’ is a collection of British maritime folk songs and sea shanties performed by some of the leading names in folk music, Seth Lakeman, Benjo Kirkpatrick, Ben Nicholls and Geoff Lakeman in the Museum’s Main Hall under the flying flotilla of small boats.

Roseland Ramble Walk
St Mawes and Place Ferries operate 7 days a week throughout September
Cooler weather means more opportunity for walking! Take in some of the finest scenery Cornwall has to offer with unspoilt beaches, dramatic cliff tops, pristine waters and wooded vales with a walk along the Roseland Peninsula.
Start your adventure by catching the Fal River Place Ferry from St Mawes which leaves the quay every 30 minutes for the short hop across to Place. Follow the South West Coast Path and enjoy the magnificent views for a great day out.
