Dolphin spotting from the St Mawes Ferry

Ferry runs all year round

Our lucky passengers and crew were treated to the spectacular sight of pods of dolphins on the Falmouth to St Mawes Ferry crossings throughout January. The excitement and wonderment at seeing these stunning aquatic mammals never diminishes. There must be plenty of food for them in the Carrick roads, and they seem to enjoy swimming alongside the ferry.

Our experienced Skippers are always careful and sensitive to the environment and wildlife around them. We can't guarantee a sighting every time, but the everchanging view from the ferry is pretty good for the soul at any time, so hop on board and enjoy the trip.

Liquid nitrogen and dry ice illustrate states of matter, and you'll investigate weird and wonderful seas of fire and ice on other worlds. Split H2O into an explosive mixture and consider hydrogen as a fuel of the future. Bring your curiosity and questions for Explorer Dome's expert science presenters. Expect plenty of audience interaction, freezing fog, fire and BANGS!

A family science show suitable for adults and children aged 5 and over, but all are welcome.
