King Harry Ferry Staff Raise Over £2,300 for the Invictus Trust
30 March
The staff and crew of Cornwall's iconic King Harry Ferry have shown their community spirit in impressive style, raising over £2,322 for the Invictus Trust, their chosen charity for 2025.
Every penny of this vital sum was gathered directly from foot passenger fares throughout the year, a simple but powerful approach that turns every crossing into a contribution.
The Invictus Trust is a small but impactful local charity dedicated to supporting young people struggling with poor mental health. In January 2023, it launched Invictus Trust Clear Counselling in Truro, a service for 11- to 21-year-olds, offering free, easily accessible support tailored to the needs of young people and their families.
Sharon Cowburn, Trustee of the Invictus Trust, said:
"Thank you so much for the amazing donation from the foot passengers of the King Harry Ferry! We will ensure that every penny of the £2,322.56 is used to support the Invictus Trust Clear Counselling service, which is offering free counselling sessions to young people of 11-21yrs.
We have been overwhelmed by the demand from local young people and their families for the high-quality support we offer, and we are committed to sustaining the service. Young people, or their parents/carers, can self-refer via a short and simple process on Whatsapp, email or by phone, which avoids lengthy wait times and ensures appropriate help is made available when it is most needed."
Garrick Royle, Managing Director of King Harry Ferry, said:
"We're proud to support the Invictus Trust and the remarkable work they do for young people across our community. This partnership reflects our belief that a local business should make a genuine difference to the people and places it serves."
The fundraising effort is the latest in a long line of community initiatives from the King Harry Ferry team, who select a new local charity or appeal each year that reflects their values, proving that even a short river crossing can leave a lasting impact.
