2 March

Set on the water in the heart of St Mawes, The Idle Rocks and the St Mawes hotel are ready to welcome spring, inviting guests to slow down and savour life on Cornwall’s south coast.

Throughout the season, the hotels will host a series of moments, including Mother’s Day and Easter weekend highlights, opportunities for guests to discover the Roseland Peninsula.

St Pirans Day (6th March)
St Piran, the Patron Saint of Cornwall, is believed to have been responsible for the region’s tin mining heritage and his love of a good time. The St Mawes Hotel will mark the occasion in truly Cornish style, the day after his anniversary, with a spirited knees‐up on Friday, March 6th. From 7pm, live music from Du Hag Owr of Portscatho will fill the bar with Cornish shanties, accompanied by local drinks and proper pasties. An easy‐going evening for guests and locals alike to raise a glass the Cornish way.

Mother’s Day (15th March)
Mother’s Day at The Idle Rocks is a relaxed, waterside affair, centred around a long, indulgent lunch overlooking the harbour. While little ones get creative, parents can settle in for drinks or lunch. The kids class includes juice and a sandwich, get in touch with the hotel to book. Easter Sunday begins with handcrafted eggs at breakfast, in advance of morning service. Lunch sees classic roasts added to the à la carte menu, encouraging guests to gather for a shared Easter feast. Celebrations extend into the village with a harbour-side Easter egg hunt from 11am, encouraging families to explore St Mawes together.
